China–Mongolia Joint International Training on Green Coal Chemical Technology
The **Mongolian Mineral Processing Association (MMPA)**, in collaboration with **Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT), People’s Republic of China**, is organizing an international training program and professional cooperation platform on **“Green Coal Chemical Technology.”** The initiative aims to expand cooperation in advanced coal chemical technologies, research and development, engineering capacity building, and industrial innovation.
The training was officially opened by **Tong Yunxin**, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Cooperation (Office of Foreign Experts Affairs) of the Department of Science and Technology of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region; **Guo Hongfei**, Vice President of Inner Mongolia University of Technology; and **B. Chinzorig**, President of the Mongolian Mineral Processing Association. They delivered opening remarks and wished all participants success in the training program.
This cooperation goes beyond a short-term training program. It represents an important initiative to align the technological development trends of the **coal chemical industries of Mongolia and China**, particularly in the deep processing of coal and the production of high-value-added products. It also aims to strengthen the capacity of engineering and technical personnel and establish an integrated **industry–research–innovation** cooperation framework.
The training combines theoretical and practical learning, industrial training, and technology study programs covering:
- Advanced and efficient utilization of coal;
- Modern coal chemical production technologies;
- Clean production solutions;
- Energy efficiency and engineering approaches to reducing carbon emissions;
- Resource recovery and utilization of industrial by-products and waste;
- Water and energy recycling and reuse;
- Sustainable industrial development solutions.
The program also introduces Mongolian engineers and technical professionals in the mining, mineral processing, and processing industries to the development of **integrated coal chemical production**, moving beyond the traditional use of coal primarily as a fuel toward the production of high-value-added products such as **methanol, olefins, synthesis gas, and chemical feedstocks**.
The training is designed to equip participants with **international-level technological knowledge and practical experience in industrial management**, while promoting the application of advanced coal chemical technologies in Mongolia.
Participants include mineral processing engineers, laboratory specialists, R&D professionals, process engineers, and other engineering and technical personnel from leading Mongolian companies in the mining, mineral processing, and coal-processing sectors, including:
- Erdenes Mongol LLC**
- Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC**
- Mongolyn Alt (MAK) LLC**
- Energy Resources LLC**
- True T.R.C. LLC**
- AMB Lab LLC**
- Oyu Tolgoi LLC**
- Baganuur JSC**
The training is expected to bring **Mongolia–China cooperation in coal processing and coal chemical technologies to a new level**, facilitate the transfer and localization of advanced technologies and engineering solutions, improve production efficiency and resource utilization, and expand opportunities for the deep processing of coal into high-value-added products.
Ultimately, the initiative will contribute to establishing a **sustainable foundation for long-term scientific, industrial, and engineering cooperation between Mongolia and China**, while supporting the modernization and sustainable development of Mongolia’s coal and mineral processing industries.
