METSIM – Mineral Processing Simulation Software Training
The **Mongolian Mineral Processing Association (MMPA)**, represented by Board Members **D. Nyamdavaa** and **N. Buyan-Ulzii**, in collaboration with **Mongolian Consulting Engineer G. Davaatseren**, successfully conducted a **10-hour online training course on “METSIM – Mineral Processing Process Simulation Software”** for engineers and technical staff from **Erdenet Mining Corporation SOE, Erdenes ҮТП LLC, and Buljikh Mineral Mining LLC**.
The training covered the following topics:
1. **Introduction to the METSIM software**
2. **Creating a basic process model – Crushing**
3. **Modeling of crushing and grinding circuits**
4. **Continuation of crushing and grinding circuit modeling**
5. **Developing basic crushing and grinding models and performing mass balance calculations**
6. **Modeling flotation process flowsheets**
7. **Continuation of flotation process flowsheet modeling**
8. **Modeling a copper–molybdenum processing flowsheet – Crushing + Flotation**
9. **Modeling gravity separation processes**
10. **Continuation of gravity process modeling**
11. **Examples of pre-built mineral processing models**
12. **Modeling hydrometallurgical processes**
13. **Mass balance of a basic SX/EW flowsheet for oxidized copper ore**
14. **Modeling a CIP process flowsheet for cyanidation of primary gold ore**
15. **Modeling chemical processes and applying automatic control systems in METSIM**
16. **Modeling thermal processes in METSIM, including smelting and lime calcination**
17. **Practical exercises using the METSIM software**
The training provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in **process simulation, mass balancing, flowsheet development, and the modeling of various mineral processing technologies** using METSIM.
